2016-model year Orange County Auto Show kicks off auto show season

1015151112k-1The Orange County International Auto Show took over Southern California with more than 500 new models recently. Motoring fans filled the Anaheim Convention Center for an up-close look at the latest cars, trucks, crossovers, SUVs, vans and all that are new in the automotive world. From the Toyota FT-1Conceptto the McLaren 570S, the auto show featured vehicles from nearly 35 manufacturers, 100-plus test drives, ultra-high-end exotics, an off-road test track, alternative fuel options, and more.

The Orange County International Auto Show OC Auto Show 2015kicks-off auto show season on the West Coast, offering consumers the chance to compare hundreds of new models side by side, all under one roof. It’s a place for attendees to sit in the driver’s seats, inspect engines, kick tires, count cup holders, check trunk space, test drive vehicles and take in that new car smell. New models that turned heads on the show floor included the McLaren 570S, Honda Civic Sedan,Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet Volt, Mercedes-Benz 1015151221cGLC300, Nissan Titan XD, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, Ford Focus RS, Audi Q7 3.0T, Ram Rebel, Mazda Miata MX-5, Toyota Mirai and more. Visitors were also treated to a look into the future of automotive design with a collection of concept cars including the Toyota FT-1 Concept and Hyundai Santa Cruz Crossover Concept.

Drivers were invited to take their auto show experience from the show floor to the road. More than 100 vehicles from16 manufacturers were available for test drives including Acura, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, 1015151217_HDR-1Honda, Jeep, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Ram, Toyota and Volkswagen.

Back by popular demand, Camp Jeep Anaheim returned to the Orange County International Auto Show. Professional 4×4 drivers will take passengers on a thrilling adventure along an off-road test track in a collection of all-new Jeep models including the Wrangler Unlimited, Wrangler Rubicon, Cherokee Trailhawk and Grand Cherokee. The rugged test track thrilled passengers with an 18-ft. high, 35-degree hill climb up the iconic Jeep Mountain; teetering, extreme 1015151204_HDRthree-wheeling across an 8-ft. high, 50-ft long Trail Rated Pass; and adrenaline-inducing terrain that simulates fallen logs.

New this year, the auto show featured an all-new Exotic Gallery that will host a multi-million dollar showcase of exotic vehicles – a collection of masterpieces from the automotive world. Visitors enjoyed up-close looks at the all-new, purple McLaren 570S by MSO (McLaren Special Operations), fully equipped with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-8 that catapults this sports beauty to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. The gallery will also feature the Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster, Lamborghini Huracán, Ferrari FF, Ferrari F12, Ferrari 458 Speciale, Maserati Gran Turismo, Maserati Quattroporte and Maserati Ghibli, courtesy of Ferrari Maserati of Newport Beach and Lamborghini McLaren of Newport Beach, as well as new models from Bentley and Porsche.

Always popular with car aficionados is the duPont REGISTRY Live stunning, multi-million dollar showcase of over-the-top luxury vehicles, sports and celebrity-owned rides including a Starwood Custom Jeep, Ford GT, Airstream and more.
